Puccini's Romantic Opera Masterpiece
Experience Puccini's romantic opera masterpiece La Boheme, proudly presented by Opera Carolina. Directed by Teatro del Giglio di Lucca's Artistic Director Aldo Tarabella and lead by the company's Principal Conductor James Meena, a superb cast will bring Puccini's exquisite arias and heartrending duets to life amidst the streets of Bohemian Paris. British tenor Adam Smith stars as Rodolfo alongside Bulgarian soprano Stefanna Kybalova as Mimi.
One of the most enduring and widely performed operas of all time, La Boheme sweeps audiences away to the Latin Quarter of Paris in the 1840s, the realm of painters, vagabonds, gypsies and poets. One such wordsmith is Rodolfo, friend of painter Marcello. By chance, the struggling creative meets the seamstress Mimi, and they embark on a love affair that blossoms through the cracks of poverty and late rent. As with all great operas, tragedy waits in the wings and threatens to tear the new lovers apart.
