The Indomitable Mon Laferte

Debuting in 2003 on the Chilean talent show Rojo under her birth name, Monserrat Bustamante, Mon Laferte quickly became a national favorite. Following a battle with cancer in 2009, the singer-songwriter redefined her artistic identity, emerging as Mon Laferte.

After independently releasing early albums (Desechable and Tornasol) in the mid-2000s, she rose to wider acclaim with her 2015 breakthrough, Mon Laferte Vol. 1. Her later work, including the critically recognized album Autopoiética, showcases her fearless artistry and introspective songwriting. Today, she remains one of Latin music’s most distinctive voices, with multiple multi-platinum releases across Chile and Mexico.
