What Is The Story?

The musical follows the life of soul legend Marvin Gaye, the iconic singer who helped to shape the Motown sound and defined music for generations. With a slew of hits already making him a household name in the '60s, his legendary 1971 concept album What's Going On broke creative ground addressing social issues, environmentalism and the Vietnam War. He continued to release influential R&B and win Grammy Awards into the '80s, before his life was tragically cut short when he was fatally shot by his father at the age of 44.
